VTG 1960s White Ceylon Beaded Clutch Purse

Vintage 1960’s Hong Kong White/Ceylon Glass Seed Bead Clutch Evening Bag with Chain Strap.

This is an exquisite small white glass beaded handmade clutch with chain strap. Color is a white/Ceylon. The very small glass seed beads sparkle in the light. It is very heavy. This would have taken hours to make. The design is only on the front of the bag. All over bead coverage on back.

The design is delicate and has 3 raised beaded flowers. They are framed in a curving pattern of a different shape small bead. Closure is a silver tone snap double bead kiss style and has a very tight fitting. The silver tone chain can be enclosed in the purse to be used as a clutch. The frame at top is lined in ivory satin giving it an elegant finish. The beaded clutch is lined with ivory satin with a small inside pocket. The pocket needs a few stitches. Art number 351. My mother bought this lovely, beaded clutch when we were in Hong Kong in 1968. She wanted it to go with a stunning white brocade dress with matching over-coat she had made while we were there. It is time for me to let go of many of the beautiful items my mother left for me, and I have had this purse packed away for many years. This is an attractive beaded evening bag for a formal occasion or evening out.

For its age it is in excellent condition. Very clean and beads are still intact. The only little marks I see is on the satin and where the bag in the middle folds close. Would make a beautiful addition to a purse collection. Comes with the original box. I will double box for shipping.

Measurement: Widest part is 9 in. The base is 8 in, the length is 5 in, and chain length is 5 1/2 in.
