Vintage. Old Store Stock Inventory. 1980s Sterling Silver Miniature Howling Coyote Pierced Earrings. In Excellent Condition. Made in Arizona, USA.

Very cute Sterling Silver miniature Howling Coyote earrings. Earrings are on posts. The coyote has a lot of detail; it is wearing a scarf around the neck and the mouth is open. On the back it is stamped S.T.C and STERLING, also an artist stamp. Made in Arizona USA.

Measures 1/2 inches tall by 3/16 inches wide. The studs and backs are Hypo Allergenic surgical steel. Closure is Butterfly. I personally handpicked all my Southwest Native American Indian silver jewelry on the Hopi, Zuni, and Navajo reservations so I could meet many of the local artists. I used my jewelers cloth to clean the front of the earrings and left the back oxidized. In this way you can see that it is real silver.

The Coyote, in the mythology and folklore of the North American Plains, California, and Southwest Indians, the chief animal of the age before humans. But for the indigenous peoples of the Americas, the coyote is very sacred. Coyote is said to be particularly insightful and possessed of great stealth. I always feel special if I see a Coyote walks by my yard or I can get a photo of one which is rare.
