Description

New, Old Store Stock. Vintage 1984 Beatrix Potter Little Old Lady Who Lived In A Shoe Hanging Ornament from Schmid.

Hand-painted polished glaze ornament. As early as 1893 Potter illustrated and made a booklet of “There was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe”. The Old Woman’s children are depicted as scampering mice, and their mother as a mouse. They lived in an elaborately beaded turquoise-blue shoe. All of the Schmid ornaments are retired as Schmid & Company closed its doors in 1995.

Vivid colors with Original red Schmid sticker still attached to the gold cord of this ornament.

This ornament was originally purchased for my former store as part of my Beatrix Potter Schmid collection in 1985. I will also include a gift box to store your ornament in.

  • Height – 2 1/4 in
  • Width – 3 in

This circa 1984 mint ornament is in excellent condition and is considered new as it was never sold. The rare ornament will brighten any child’s holiday tree or a great gift for the discriminating Beatrix Potter collector.

Items that I sell that are marked vintage, antique or collectible may show some signs of wear to the original boxes or original package when available. See pictures for detail. All of my items come from a smoke-free environment. I do combine shipping on multiple items.
