Like New, Old Store Stock.  MINT Condition. Purchased in 1987 for my former store. 22 Karat gold trimmed Russell’s Originals hand painted, hand-cast ceramics covered dish. This is a work of art. Each of Vera’s items are individually designed and painted using unique glazes that reflect the colors and textures of the Southwest. Enclosed card says, “The gold is real, 22 Karat gold which has been fired on and cannot be washed or scraped off.”

Free of cracks, scratches, chips, and stains, and a very nice piece for any collector. Would look very nice on a shelf or on a table.

Russell’s Originals are “A Painting in Clay”. The Prickly Pear Cactus is native to the Sonoran Desert. The fruits of most prickly pears are edible and sold in stores under the name “tuna, Bright rich colors are used peach, brown, sand for the background and green for Cactus. Two different texture are used on lid.

A glaze smooth finish raised white and rose cactus blossom’s and rough finish for the rest of the desert scene design. 22 K gold trim accents the mountains, desert, and cactus.

Vera Russell’s art studio was in ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO. All pieces are hand signed by well know artist Vera Russell. Vera has retired from the pottery business and she predominantly paints pictures in oil and watercolors now. Her pottery is becoming Highly Collectable and is increasing in value.
