This vibrant 1960 (or earlier) vintage canister is an embossed hand-painted releaf floral tin standing 5 1/2 inches tall. While based in Long Island, New York, Daher manufactured tins in both Holland and in England. These bold colored tin canisters were perfect for storing tea, cookies or assorted biscuits. Beautiful hand painted multi color of flowers on a black background with gold-outlined flowers of many colors and shapes. Colors are hues of yellow, blue, red, green, and orange to name a few.

The lid has a sphere-shaped handle that fits very snugly and the top fits tight. The bottom has 3 feet. The Tin ”Container reads made in Holland”. The tin is made of high-quality materials and was crafted in Holland with great attention to detail. Daher tin ware was started in in the 1940s.

You can see the embossed design on the inside of tin as well with its Gold-tone finish. Its unique and decorative design makes it a perfect addition to any metalware or tin collection, and its practicality allows it to serve as a functional storage container.

Measurements:  Lid 5 1/2 in diameter; Canister 5 1/ 2 in height, diameter 5 in; 15 5/8 in circumference around the can. In good condition for being over 50 years old. It has a dent in one area of the bottom. Over the years the tin has tarnished a little on bottom and inside with rust from age use.  However, the outside is still beautiful and sparkles in the light. Perfect for adding a pop of color to your space on a counter or shelf. Use to place a live plant in the container for a table centerpiece.

This canister style mimics the look of Cloisonne which I have been collecting for a long time. The Container is from my mother’s tinware collection. The Tin Box Company, located on Long Island, NY, began operations in 1952 as Daher Limited, manufacturing all tins in Holland and England. In 1980 the company name was changed to The Tin Box Company of America Inc. and all manufacturing was moved to Hong Kong. Vintage Daher Multicolor Floral Tin Container.
