VTG 1980s Nutcracker Stoneware Mug w/2 Soldier Nutcrackers

New Old Store Stock. Vintage 1980’s Stoneware Mug design with 5 Nutcrackers standing around the mug. Depicts a soldier in a festive colored uniform standing with holly beneath his black boots. Mug is in Excellent condition. It is clean and free from scratches, cracks, chips. During firing of glaze, you can see a very minor imperfection by one of the boots. Comes with gift box and Double Boxed for protection.

Stoneware Mug measurements: approx. 3 11/16″ tall; top diameter is approx. 3″. Includes 2 small wooden hand-painted Nutcrackers. Black hat depicts Imperial Guard and Orange with red strips hat depicts the King. They stand on a wood circle base and have a magnet on the back.

Nutcracker measurements: Black Hat 3 10/16” high; Orange Hat 3 12/16” high. Width for both is 1 6/16”.

In German tradition, the legend says that a nutcracker represents power and strength and serves like a trusty watch dog guarding your family from evil spirits and danger. A fierce protector, the nutcracker bares its teeth to the evil spirits and serves as the traditional messenger of good luck and goodwill. Would look cute on a wreath, garland or swag. The mug makes a nice gift for a collector filled with wrapped candies.
