Vintage Edgewood 22K Gold China Plate. 22K gold plated. Theme is a romantic courting around 1770-1800 scene design. Maybe French, English or Colonial Williamsburg style of dress. The gentleman is wearing a white wig popular at that time. The colors are bright with no wear on the picture design. Marking On Bottom – Edgewood China Warranted 22 Karat Gold. Gold filigree 1 inch band around the plate with Floral & Scroll.
On the back of the plate you can see several small end dents which were made when making and are glazed over in the firing so they are not chips. There appears to be a very tiny chip on the edge of the plate that may have occurred during firing. You have to look very close to even see it. It does not distract from the overall beauty of this plate; see pictures for detail. This plate appears to have been more of a display item lovingly placed in a China cabinet than to eat from.
Measurements: 10 inch top diameter; 6 inch base diameter; 1 inch deep.
Condition: In exceptional condition for its age. Appears almost like new. No Cracks, Fractures or Crazing.
